The president od South Africa, Jacob Zuma, announced the death of the hero and in his country also known as s Madiba – Father of the nation, Nelson Mandela. Mr. Zuma said: “Our nation has lost its greatest son!”

Paolo Coelho wrote in his book The Alchemist:

“No matter what he does, every person on earth plays a central role in the history of the world. And normally he doesn’t know it.”

…and Mandela made his central role in this world.

I am not very interested in politics, but often read his thoughts as motivation and inspiration.

Аs a sign of respect to him as a person, I am sharing with you my 8 favorite quotes of Mandela:

It always seems impossible until its done

We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right

Let there be work, bread, water and salt for all

Money won’t create success, the freedom to make it will

I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being an optimist is keeping one’s head pointed toward the sun, one’s feet moving forward

Let freedom reign. The sun never set on so glorious a human achievement

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world

Honesty, sincerity, simplicity, humility, pure generosity, absence of vanity, readiness to serve others – qualities which are within easy reach of every soul – are the foundation of one’s spiritual life
